Legislature Approves 60 Days’ State of Emergency to Contain Spread of COVID-19 (Liberia)

“Members of the Liberian Senate and House of Representatives have endorsed President George Weah’s request to declare a state of emergency to contain the further spread of the coronavirus. However, the President’s request was endorsed with lots of modifications including sweeping powers to quarantine any affected counties or duration of the period of the state of emergency.”
